Launching Our HAF Project!
Two Weeks of Sunshine, Skills and Smiles!
Two Weeks of Sunshine, Skills and Smiles!
We were delighted to launch our Easter HAF programme, and what an incredible two weeks it turned out to be! With sunshine on our side throughout, we made full use of both our indoor spaces and the great outdoors, creating a vibrant, welcoming environment for everyone involved.
It was fantastic to welcome so many new young people to the programme. From the very first day, friendships began to form, and it was wonderful to see everyone settle so quickly into such a warm, inclusive and energetic atmosphere.
Each day began with a relaxed and social breakfast, where young people could fuel up with fresh fruit, juices and snacks. These moments quickly became a highlight, a chance to chat, connect and share excitement for the day ahead.
With nutritious lunches and afternoon snacks keeping energy levels high, the rest of the day could focus on what mattered most: fun, play and teamwork.
Team games were at the heart of the programme and a clear favourite for many. Football, basketball, rounders and parachute games brought laughter, energy and healthy competition, while park play sessions gave everyone the freedom to explore and enjoy the sunshine.
Across the fortnight, we saw incredible teamwork develop. Young people encouraged one another, celebrated successes and learned valuable communication skills. For many, it was a chance to try something new and grow in confidence while doing it.
Most special of all was watching friendships flourish, as young people teamed up, supported each other and shared in their achievements.
Every day brought opportunities to learn something new. From creative activities like papier-mâché, pebble painting and kite decorating, to practical life skills, the programme was full of meaningful experiences.
We were especially proud of the personal milestones achieved, from learning to tie shoelaces independently to building resilience when trying unfamiliar activities. These moments, though small, had a big impact on confidence and independence.
The programme also created space for young people to express themselves and share their talents. Music sessions were a standout highlight, with participants confidently picking up instruments, performing for each other and even teaching new tunes.
Hearing young people proudly play piano and electric guitar created a fantastic atmosphere and inspired others to join in.
For those who preferred quieter activities, board games, Lego challenges, pool and air hockey offered space for creativity, strategy and social connection.
Thanks to the beautiful weather, we were able to enjoy a range of outdoor trips and activities.
A visit to Fenn Bell was a particular highlight, where young people loved seeing animals up close and learning more about wildlife. The experience sparked curiosity and lots of thoughtful questions.
We also explored Milton Country Park, taking part in a nature trail that encouraged teamwork, observation and discovery. Adventure playground visits added even more excitement, giving everyone the chance to build confidence, take safe risks and strengthen friendships through active play.
Across the two weeks, we welcomed many new faces and watched confidence grow day by day. The programme was filled with sunshine, creativity, teamwork and learning, and, most importantly, plenty of smiles.
We are incredibly proud of everything the young people achieved and are already looking forward to our next adventure together this summer.
