Therapeutic Alliance Mentoring

Nurturing and meaningful mental health and wellbeing support for young people

Therapeutic Alliance Mentoring & Wellbeing Support

Launched in April 2026, YLF expanded its mentoring and wellbeing programme across Kent and Medway in partnership with the Kent and Medway Therapeutic Alliances.

Working alongside partners including Salus (Kent) and North Kent Mind (Medway), we will provide early support for children and young people who would benefit from help with their emotional wellbeing and mental health.

Through one-to-one mentoring and small peer wellbeing groups, we aim to provide consistent, supportive relationships that help young people build confidence, resilience and a stronger sense of wellbeing.

This partnership places YLF at the heart of a countywide effort to provide nurturing, meaningful support for children and young people. Find out more about our partnerships and programme delivery below.

Our Partnerships

Kent

YLF is part of the Kent Children and Young People’s Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Therapeutic Alliance (KTA),
commissioned by NHS Kent and Medway.

Working in partnership with Salus, the alliance brings together organisations across Kent to ensure children and young people can access the support they need to improve their emotional wellbeing.

More about our Kent Partnership

Medway

YLF is proud to be working alongside a number of charities and services as part of the Medway Therapeutic Alliance,
led by North Kent Mind.

Together we are helping to develop a new early intervention emotional wellbeing and mental health service for children and young people in Medway, bringing support together in one place.

Volunteer-Led Programmes

As YLF move into exciting new countywide mentoring and wellbeing programmes in partnership with Kent and Medway’s Therapeutic Alliances, we will be investing heavily in our volunteers – our mentoring and wellbeing heroes!

Our expanded volunteer-led mentoring programmes will create a wide variety of opportunities to support young people schools, in the community, outdoors in nature, and with children who need consistent, caring support the most.

Our support isn’t clinical , we’re simply looking for warm, empathetic people who genuinely care about helping young people build resilience, self-confidence, and positive aspirations for the future. Whether it’s taking part in activities, or just talking things through, you’ll help them discover their strengths and feel more connected.

Your time, compassion, and commitment will help us shape a brighter future for young people across the county.
