Football Stadium Tour!

Three lucky youngsters of YLF were invited to attend a special tour of Maidstone United Football Club’s Gallagher Stadium!

Leon, Carl and Mikey were selected to take part in the tour as part of their ASDAN educational short course in football involving research into football stadiums. None of them had visited a football ground before so didn’t know what to expect and were really excited by the chance!

The young people were accompanied by their volunteer mentor, and were given a private tour of the grounds, the dugouts, the team changing rooms, the director’s lounge and even got to score a goal on the pitch!

Everyone was given a match-day programme as a souvenir and as an extra treat – a copy of the latest football manager game - so everyone could practice being the next Maidstone United FC manager! (If they’re not already real-life football superstars!)

A huge thank you to Ian Tucker at Maidstone United FC for arranging this with YLF. Overall it was a fantastic opportunity and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. All three young people said they want to go back again and watch a match.
