Swale Legends!
Our young Legends of Swale have taken on a group challenge...
And so far it's been a HUGE success!!
The Swale Legends group set themselves a challenge to raise enough funds to be able to enjoy additional activities over the summer….and they have really been getting stuck in!
From sponsored fundraisers to raffles, the young people, their families, friends, and the YLF team have been putting 100% effort into raising money!
Here’s what they did:
Alongside the YLF team, the Swale Legends and even some of their family members (and dogs!) took on a 3k walk around the local Swale community.
The wonderful Haley, our Swale Legends group volunteer, undertook a 500 mile bike ride throughout July. She completed her final mile whilst riding to the Swale Legends charity football match, greeted with claps, cheers and even flowers from all of the young people she supports at the group
The charity football match was an idea from the group members; Swale Legends vs YLF adults!
And what a thrilling game it was! With some wonderful skills, energy and goals (more from the Legends Team than YLF!) the game equalised with an end result of 4:4 – so a penalty shootout was needed! YLF’s mascot, Lenny the Lion, cheered them on from the side lines and the young Legends scored all their penalties to bag the trophy!
And lastly, they also handmade two luxury hampers of tasty treats and raffled them for some extra funds.
Well done to everyone involved and all those who have supported and donated so far – it means a great deal to the group, thank you!
