The Scores Are In!

The Judges gave 10's all round for the 'YLF Does Strictly' Fundraiser!

What an unforgettable evening!

Our YLF Does Strictly fundraising event was held last weekend at Ditton Community Centre and welcomed over 90 guests ready to hit the dancefloor!

We were very lucky to be in the presence of our professional dance coach, Catherine, from ‘Dancing with Catherine‘, who took the lead in teaching our guests.

The celebration kicked off with a graceful waltz, followed by the upbeat rhythms of the jive, and a touch of sultry salsa to get everyone in the dancing spirit. From beginners to seasoned dancers, the room was filled with smiles, twirls, and endless energy.

During the evening, we took a special break to honour 20 wonderful years of ‘Dancing with Catherine’ with a stunning performance by Catherine and her lifelong dance partner, Diane. Dancing together since the age of three, their performance was a beautiful testament to a friendship and partnership that’s grown alongside their dancing.

We were also treated to vibrant showcases from the students of their Ballroom and FitSteps classes, each performance a perfect mix of elegance, technique, and joy.

With spirits high, the evening continued with a lively Barn Dance, bringing everyone together as partners swapped and laughter echoed across the room. There was a freestyle session to finish off and the judges kept their beady eyes on every guest in order to hand out their winning awards for Innovative Moves, Best Facial Expressions, Enthusiasm, and Best Dressed!

To wrap up, we hosted an exciting raffle with fantastic prizes from hampers to hotel stays for our guests to enjoy. What an amazing night of dancing, celebration, and community!

Thank you to all of our glamourous guests, our dancing queens Catherine and Diane for their fabulous teaching and performances, and to Jasmine Crundwell for photographing the evening. We are also truly grateful to all of our supporters who kindly donated raffle prizes to make the fundraising event a success.

A grand total of £3,000 was raised from the event and will go towards our Christmas appeal that has an overall target of £20,000. All funds will support the 2000 care leavers we have here in Kent as we approach the Christmas period, allowing us to give them all a gift. Find out more about our Christmas Campaign here.
