Youngsters Achievement Awards
The achievements of 4 members of our Children in Care Council were recognised at a gala awards ceremony last week.
The TryAngle Awards was hosted by Medway Youth Parliament at the Central Theatre Chatham on Tuesday and our Children in Care Council representatives were invited to attend.
Daniel, David, Paddy and Tiff all donned their finest clothes to attend the ceremony and collect certificates, in recognition of the work and time they offer to YLF and Medway Council as representatives of the Children in Care Council (CiCC).
Achievements this year have included the 'Top 10 Qualities' poster and training materials for social care professionals. More recently, the CiCC produced 'Stigma', a short film and training guide in an attempt to tackle the stigma attached to being a child in care - when there is NO difference, it makes ALL the difference.
The TryAngle Awards evening showcased some of Medway’s most talented young people, with entertainment and performances including dancing and acapella singing. Awards were also presented to young people for achievements in art, music, theatre, young carers and courage.
“It was really good to come here tonight and see what other young people do across Medway. It is amazing the amount of good work that young people do and to see it recognised…I'm really pleased to be involved!” Daniel, CiCC
