Scorching Summer BBQ
What a fantastic day Sunday was! Not only was the weather a scorcher, the YLF annual summer BBQ was once again a great success with thanks to funding from Kent People's Trust!
It was good to see so many volunteers and young people attend on Sunday - over 80 people joined in the fun! The young people (and adults!) showed their skills on our Gladiator jousting, inflatable assault course and their circus tricks as well as involving themselves with some face painting, football, rounders and tennis to name just a few of the things we got up to.
Given the glorious sunshine the swimming pool was well used by all (and even those that didn't get right in had no choice but to get wet!) and of course, George, our wonderful ice-cream man was kept extremely busy handing out ice creams to keep everyone cool.
A really big thank you to our chairman Clive and his wife Sue for allowing us to use their beautiful garden and facilities for another year.
Thank you to all who helped on the day with the activities and the cooking (of over 100 burgers and sausages!) but most importantly to our wonderful team of volunteer befrienders and mentors for bringing the young people and for the tremendous work you do all year round!
"Thanks for the great time at the bbq today, I had so much fun!" Nathan, young person
