‘Dynamic & Determined’!
...that was the comment that Ofsted reported about our Children in Care Council!
On 27 November, Ofsted released their Single Inspection Report of Medway's Children's Services. In the report, the Children in Care Council (CiCC) was commended on its success and difference it achieves, stating:
'The CiCC is a dynamic and determined group whose work is leading to changes for all children looked after.'
'The CiCC commendably engages with a wide group of children looked after and young people... Members collaborate well with the corporate parenting board and influence its priorities, particularly in reducing changes of social workers and setting clear, basic requirements for social workers in their day-to-day work.'
YLF is always impressed by the hard work achieved by its dedicated CiCC members and is extremely pleased that their commitment and determination to make a difference is recognised by Medway Council and Ofsted.
In the recent 'Medway Matters' news article, Cllr Mike O’Brien, Medway Council’s Portfolio Holder for Children’s Services, said: “We have always had the best interests of children and young people at the heart of everything we do and I am pleased Ofsted has recognised the significant improvements being made. I would want to say a special thank you to our Children in Care Council – their dynamism and commitment to improving services for children in care should not be underestimated.”
