Weekend Adventures!
Over the weekend of 12th-14th August, our adventurers headed off to Stubbers Activity Centre in Essex for a fantastic time doing loads of really cool outdoor activities, learning new skills and making new friends.
The highlight of the weekend was the 4x4 as for many young people this was their first experience of driving which they absolutely loved, especially Dom who thought it was 'sick'!
The banana boat rides were hilarious fun as Dean and Tyler tried to make everyone fall off and get wet and then delighted in tipping it over as they all tried to get back on!
Mohammed and Abdel showed how it’s done when it came to the rifle shooting.
John displayed real leadership and organisational skills during the bushcraft activity by taking charge when it came to putting up a hammock amongst the trees.
The evenings were spent telling ghost stories and toasting marshmallows around the camp fire and it was great to see the older group looking out for the younger ones.
One young lady even chose to spend her birthday with us so the group made her day by celebrating with a surprise party!
The young people summed up the whole experience as, “Amazing”, “Fun ”, “Awesome”, “Wicked”, “Cool” and “Sick”. One young person’s carer even emailed to say, “Thank you for taking Matt to Stubbers, he enjoyed himself very much and has not stopped talking about it . He is still on a high today!”
Looks like we could be heading back there next year!
