Easter Fun | Skating Penguins!
Let The Penguins and Polar Bears Guide The Way!!
On Wednesday 15th April, a group of 26 rallied at Gillingham Ice Bowl for some ice skating fun! Chloe couldn't wait to get started and said, “I have always wanted to do ice skating and I am sooo happy to be here today!”
Most of the group had never been ice skating before and some as young as 7, met their guide for the day - a penguin or polar bear! These ice skating aids helped them on their way to skating alone!
Some young people took to it naturally while others took a little while to get the hang of it but by the end of the session they all skated without holding on! What an achievement! Justin said, “I know I've fallen down a few times but look - I can do it now! And it's nice to not be the only one that hasn't been before.”
The group loved zipping around the ice and some even skated backwards! Everyone also had the opportunity to catch up with old friends and make new ones with those who were first time attenders to the group.
It was a delight to see everyone with a smile on their face and Kelsey even asked, "Can we do this again at some point, it's been such a good day?!"
