Positive Activities Christmas Adventures

Christmas Adventures Start Here!

This Christmas the Positive Activities Team have been busier than ever!Pantomime 2017

The week started off with the older young people enjoying a lovely posh world buffet; sharing good food, good conversation and their Christmas happiness of being together.

Friday saw the next group of young people whizzing off to the pantomime and enjoying a great giggly and fun time watching Sleeping Beauty, with lots of silliness, shouts of “he’s behind you” and watching as sleeping beauty finally gets her prince.

“It was so much fun!”

IMG_0556On Saturday it was time to hit the bowling alley. The young people split into two teams and were ready to compete against each other; who was going to come out the better team?! Was it going to be team A or team B?! After the first hour, it was team A for the win. Everyone enjoyed great conversation, and great food and drink while talking about who had the most strikes and spares of the game... now time for the second half, were the B team going to pull it back?!...They did!  Thanks to most of the team getting strikes and spares they were able to win that game.

The session ended on a high, with everyone wishing of Merry Christmas to each other before heading home.

“I thought today was amazing”
“I enjoying meeting new people and catching up with old friends today”

IMG_4873Oh no it doesn’t stop there….finally on Sunday, the last day of the Christmas Adventures, and this time it was at Folkestone sports centre, where the young people got to try their hand at skiing. Under the guidance of a professional instructor, the young people hit the slopes. For many of the young people this was their first time, so it was a great way to broaden their horizons and see what a great sport it is. Many of the young people took to it so naturally, they were able to manoeuvre around easily and even managed to progress higher up the slope and try a little ski jump too.

After all the hard work, it was time for the young people to reward themselves with a well-deserved hot chocolate.

“This was the first time I have been skiing, it was a cool experience”
“I fell over a few times which was really funny because it didn’t hurt”
“I want to go skiing on real snow now”

The Positive Activities Team want to thank everyone for their very kind and generous donations and to Thomas Cook, without them and all of you, this would not have been possible - Thank You!
