An EGGcellent Easter
At YLF, Easter was certainly a time of giving, spreading smiles and offering new opportunities.
For the first time at YLF, we ran an 'Eggcellent Easter' campaign, where the very generous people of the public donated Easter eggs to our disadvantaged young people - in fact over 100 Easter eggs were received! We were so overwhelmed with the support!
"We couldn't just walk past - what a simple way to make a child smile at Easter - a fantastic idea" said one shopper at The Mall, Maidstone, where we were present with our giant Easter egg box. Her daughter placed her donated Easter egg into the box and it was absolute delight to see one child wanting to help another.
Our young people are all incredibly grateful! Thank you to everyone who donated an Easter egg at Fremlin Walk or The Mall, Maidstone.
Feedback from a Centre Support Worker where we delivered some of the donated eggs said:
"Can I say a big thank you for the delivery of the eggs and for organising this for our disadvantaged parents. They were greatly received and the children were overwhelmed.
I cannot thank you enough for your support towards the young people we work with."
During the Easter holidays, YLF young people were also given the opportunity to try out some new experiences including a trip to a fire station, theme park and trampoline park!
"I like to try new things... It helps me overcome my fears." was said by Ria on the journey home from Chessington.
