Christmas Wishes!
What a wonderful Christmas time...
What a wonderful Christmas time...
Over the past few weeks, we have been fundraising in order to spread Christmas cheer to our 2000 care leavers, many of whom will be celebrating Christmas on their own for the first time.
We partnered once more with KCC in order to raise the funds needed to give each care leaver a £10 gift. And it gives us great pleasure to announce…..
WE RAISED OVER AND ABOVE OUR TARGET OF £20,000!!
With huge thanks to all businesses, partners, organisations and individuals who donated including:
The many teams at KCC – John Lewis & Partners – Waitrose – Co-op – Rotary Clubs – Reddico – and Clear Springs to name a few – plus hundreds of you who have individually donated what you can to make this Christmas an extra special one.
Thank you all so so much!
We are able to gift EVERY SINGLE ONE of our care leavers – and MORE!…
“We were concerned this year that more children and young people would miss out and that donations may not be so forthcoming, given the pressures on peoples finances at the current time. But once again we have been blown away by the support, from so many people and organisations and its because of this we have been able to impact over 3,000 people this Christmas. Together we have made a real difference. Thank you so much for supporting us!” Stephen Gray – CEO,YLF
In true Christmas spirit, our very generous and thoughtful community have spread joy by donating over 3,000 festive gifts!
The gifts have been sorted, wrapped and many have started to leave the YLF grotto to be delivered to children, care leavers and families across Kent and Medway. In such hard times, support like this couldn’t be more appreciated.
None of this could have happened without the support of giving trees and collections held in venues across the county. Thanks to:

Andy from Early Help Service in Thanet said: “Despite cost of living crisis and bill increases, the public continue to be generous and donate presents for the benefit of young people. Please assure your sponsors and donors that each and every present will make its way to a targeted young person to bring extra joy and hope to their lives. We are truly grateful and really appreciate your kindness and thoughtfulness.”
A huge thank you to everyone who has helped support us to make Christmas extra special for our young people. From volunteer ‘elves’, and ‘sleigh’ drivers, to those who held cake sales, gave donations or shared our campaign – we are sincerely grateful to all of you, including:
