Social Workers Get Schooled
A daunting experience for anyone, standing in front of over 50 second year Student Social Workers giving a lecture on the importance of listening to children and young people. But our children in care council members gave a confident and interactive workshop.....which ended in a spontaneous round of applause!!
Ann Kelly, Lecturer in Social Work & Director of Studies BA Social Work, was thrilled with the input:
"That was a thought provoking and inspiring session. I can tell straight away that the students enjoyed it and will take away with them some helpful tips."
Using the research that they had undertaken on stigma and the qualities that make good social workers, Paddy and Dan, drew on their own experiences as well as those gained from being on the Children in Care Council. Clearly their input was very well received!
