Sunny Summer BBQ
Despite the weather forecast the sun shone once again for our annual YLF summer BBQ.
Over 70 people joined us on the day and it was great to see so many volunteers and young people having fun in the sun.
The gladiator jousting was a big hit, in more ways than one! as was the inflatable assault course and the bouncy castle.
An extremely tense game of football was played with staff and the young people, followed by an exciting game of rounders. Meanwhile others were practising their tennis skills.
The swimming pool was extremely popular in the heat. Staff and volunteers entered into the spirit by joining the young people in the pool. Some needed a little bit of persuading (or a shove!). Face painting and tattooing (not permanent!) was also very popular!
Thank you to George who once again came out of retirement to serve us ice-cream all day. To Steve and Becky who helped cook over 100 burgers and sausages and to our President Clive Emson and his wife Sue for once again opening his beautiful gardens and facilities to us.
An even bigger thank you to all the volunteer befrienders and mentors who brought the young people to this event and for your continued support and commitment.
