Toy Trolley Dash!

YLF was the chosen charity for a trolley dash at The Entertainer toy store last weekend!

The Entertainer opened a new store in Ashford on the 25^th October and YLF was asked if we wanted to celebrate with them by taking part in a trolley dash! Well of course we did!

Kara (10) and Kyle (12) who are currently supported by YLF, took to the challenge! They arrived extra early at the store on Saturday ready for their two minute dash to grab as many toys as they possibly could - something they are usually not able to do!

On your marks, get set.... Go!

Kara was first off the mark. She was a little overwhelmed to begin with, "There's so much, where should I start!?" ..but with encouragement and help from others she quickly sped up and scooped as many toys in her trolley as she could - so many in fact that others had to help her carry them because her trolley was so full!!

Kyle was next. He had a plan and knew exactly where he was heading in the store to grab toys like Mega Bloks and Knex! Again, so many toys were grabbed that others had to help carry them to the till!

There was a long wait whilst all the toys were scanned through the till and although a couple minutes doesn't seem long to pick up a few toys, Kara and Kyle managed to get a huge £659.48 worth of toys!

The toys were not just for those who took part. Although they were given the choice of one thing to take home that day, Kara and Kyle have been able to collect so many awesome toys, from teddies to board games, that will be given to other disadvantaged children who are supported by YLF. As a thank you from The Entertainer, Kara and Kyle were also given Power Ranger goody bags for doing such a great job!

Christmas is a struggle for many families in need across Kent but so many disadvantaged children will be given wonderful gifts from YLF this year thanks to The Entertainer store, Ashford!
