YLF Youngsters in Demand!

Our Medway Children in Care Council (CiCC) have been in high demand! Last week several members took part in various different training and consultation sessions with Medway Council.

David said, “The meeting was really interesting and gave me a lot of insight into the way decisions are made about LAC.”

Jo Cross said, "It was brilliant having young people involved in the meeting, they participated in the discussions and everyone at the meeting found it useful to hear their comments."

Tiff said, “It was really informal which was good and the new social workers really seemed to value our opinions.”

On Friday, Louise – a care leaver of Medway’s children’s services - helped to deliver a 'Skills to Foster' training session for prospective foster carers. Louise was able to give valuable insight about life in care from a young person's perspective.

Lisa Colyer, Medway Council, said, "I would like to say thanks again for your support with the 'Skills to Foster' group today. We had very positive feedback from the group in regard to the content and the value of Louise's and your participation.”
