WALES | Time to head home…
It was an early start for the day - everyone was up and dressed loading the Van at 8am ready to head home. Once breakfast was had, it was time to head on our way
After a long drive, some great conversations with each other, a lot of snoozing and a lovely MacDonald’s lunch (thanks to a donation from Flab-u-Less fitness group in Maidstone!), the young people were more than happy to eat the fatty food that they thought the Flab-u-Less members couldn't ;-) .
We finally arrived back to the office where carers were waiting to collect the group and they had so much to tell...
“This was the best Trip EVER!” said Shannon
“I loved going canoeing on the lake in Wales!” said Klein
“It was awesome to be able to walk through the clouds up the Mountain!” said Richard
“I really enjoyed Wales and learnt how to work well within a team” said Mohammed
“Thanks Kent Community Foundation for allowing us to come to Wales and thanks to Flab-u-Less for our MacDonald’s - we loved it!” said Lakiya
All in all, it was evident that the young people had a fantastic time in Wales. They summed up the trip as ‘awesome’, ‘fabulous’, ‘the best trip ever’, ‘amazing’, and ‘sick!’...
With massive thanks to Kent Community Foundation who granted us the funding to make this entire trip happen! Each and every one in the group are extremely grateful - 95% of the group had never been to Wales before!!
In addition, the funding has also allowed every young person to complete an ADSAN education certificate in an 'Adventure and Residential Award'. The group will be invited to a presentation event later in the month where YLF will congratulate them on their fantastic achievements and present them with their awards!
