All That Jazz…!

The hugely successful Jazz on the Lawn fundraiser returned...

and raised a whopping £14,000!!!

With a fabulous crowd of over 170 guests, YLF hosted its annual fundraiser on July 5th, in the beautiful grounds of Godmersham Park, courtesy of Fiona Sunley, of Sunley Estates, and King’s School Canterbury.

This years Jazz on the Lawn saw the renowned Robert Reid Jazz Trio and soprano singer,  Eleanor Sanderson-Nash, entertain guests who brought picnics to the event to enjoy in the summer evening sun (and scattering of rain too!). Despite the unpredictable weather, the event was a huge success! Our guests enjoyed high quality musical entertainment and learning more about the charity. Our President, Clive Emson MBE, hosted an auction and raffle with some amazing prizes donated by our generous supporters, and guests pledged some much needed funds for our young people!

We were privileged to be joined by one of our very own young people, who took to the stage and spoke to our guests about her experiences and achievements with YLF, and how important it has been to have YLF’s services and programmes in place for young people like her.

The event aimed to raise £10,000 for our Legends Programme that provides fun and supportive activities and weekend breaks for disadvantaged young people in Kent. By engaging in the programme, young people can learn new skills, build friendships, and develop the confidence and resilience to become a contributing member of their community.

We were absolutely blown away with the support from our guests and raised an outstanding £14,000 on the night! This money will be helping young people to embark on a mini break, learn new skills in a new place, away from home or their carers – and for most disadvantaged children, this will be their first or only opportunity to do such activity! We cannot wait to tell them!

Thank you to all our guests, supporters, donors, volunteers and YLF team of trustees and staff for making the event a real success! …inc:
