It was a busy week for YLF as we were invited as Finalists to attend two very special and significant award ceremonies in Kent...
The Kent Charity Awards and Celebrate Maidstone Awards!
At the Kent Charity Awards, hosted at Leas Cliffe Hall, Folkestone on Thursday 10 March, YLF was a Finalist for 'Children’s Charity of the Year' category and 'Kent Charity of the Year'. YLF's Trustee and President, Clive Emson, was also Finalist for 'Trustee of the Year'.
The Children’s Charity of the Year Winner for 2016 was Action for Children Early Years Centre Folkestone and the Trustee of the Year winner was Pat Downing of West Kent Mind - a very well done to them!
Despite not winning, YLF, represented by CEO, Stephen Gray, was awarded with a Finalists certificate on stage.
YLF is absolutely delighted and celebrated being recognised as one of Kent's top three children’s charities ! It was also a honour for our Trustee, Clive Emson, to be presented with a certificate as a top four Finalist for Trustee of Year!
The celebrations didn't end there...
YLF also attended Celebrate Maidstone's Masquerade themed event on Saturday 12 March at Detling Showground where YLF volunteer appropriate adult, Janet Judges, was a finalist for 'Star Mentor' - and she was announced the winner!!!
Janet has volunteered many years and dedicated thousands of hours to YLF's Appropriate Adult Service where she supports vulnerable people detained in Police custody. YLF is incredibly proud of Janet's achievement and were delighted to be there to celebrate with her! A huge well done to her!
YLF have felt honoured to celebrate with the amazing charities and organisations at both events last week, who all work tirelessly to make a difference across Kent! It was great to hear of the achievements the Third Sector make to the county.
We would like to thank all who came along and especially to those who nominated us!!
