Tindall Teaches Rugby Tactics!

We were offered a once-in-lifetime opportunity for our youngsters to train with Rugby legend, Mike Tindall MBE. We teamed up with our corporate supporters, Hospitality Finder, who offered us the chance to meet their brand ambassador, Mike Tindall M.B.E, at Maidstone Rugby Club for a training session - an opportunity we were not going to miss!

Mike coached the club’s junior squad then gave up additional time to train alongside our young people. The group were encouraged, supported and enthused by Mike, learning the fundamentals of rugby from ball throwing, catching and tackling, to awareness of opponents and teamwork. He offered advice, techniques and tips for the children to take away, and some who have never played rugby before were so inspired by him they said they wanted to take up the sport as a hobby!

Justin said, “I loved being able to take part in the rugby, I really would love to take this up as a sport.”

After training, the children and foster carers were all invited into the Clubhouse where they were offered the chance to have their questions answered by Mike as well as photo and autograph opportunities.

Harry said, “Thank you for inviting me, it was the coolest thing ever!”

This momentous occasion has really been the talk of the month – the young people were so excited! But not only that, this type of experience gives our young people motivation and inspiration to try something new and it is fantastic to see them showing confidence and learning new skills they may not have had the chance to before.

Karl said, “I tried really hard with improving my throwing and it was soooo cool when Mike told me how impressed he was, it really meant a lot.”

We are incredibly grateful to Mike Tindall MBE, and to Hospitality Finder for this amazing opportunity, and to Maidstone Rugby Club for hosting the session - one event we are sure the young people will remember!
